Marcus has worked for the same company for more than 30 years, both before and after it became a part of The French Garden – in fact he was still at school when he first started working for John Connell, as it was then known, taking up a part-time holiday job during his teens.
Marcus became a partner in 1993 when the original owner of the firm retired and the business changed from a wholesale company to purely serving the catering trade.
When French Garden took John Connell into the fold in January 2014 Marcus stayed on board and is still firmly at the forefront of the business.
Geoff Lewis is one of the world’s original market traders, starting his working life on a stall in Brixton market selling fruit and veg to the general public.
In 1991 he joined Morning Fresh, helping out where needed in the warehouse and making deliveries, moving to Fresh Fruits when Morning Fresh went into liquidation. In 1996 he was offered a job with the C and C Group, an established company at New Covent Garden Market, starting out as a warehouse man and progressing to salesman.
Geoff was invited to join John Connell @the French Garden as their buyer in March 2014, giving him a new and exciting challenge in his career.
